For many of our guests, meal times are an important part of their stay with us, whether arranging a special celebratory dinner or just enjoying the communality and conviviality of being able to eat together around a large table.

For keen cooks, the kitchen is really well equipped with everything you need to impress your friends and family with wonderful food.  However, if you prefer to let someone else do the hard work so you have time to relax, we can help.  We are fortunate to have a fantastic chef who lives on the Estate and offers various different catering services to ensure you are well fed and watered whilst you are here.  He uses locally sourced ingredients whenever possible to make the most of the fantastic Herefordshire food provenance and it means you can have top end restaurant quality food without having to leave the house (all the yummy photos here are of food cooked by him from our menu and taken at The Freeth or The Hyde).

For those special dinners, he has a seasonal set three course menu or can create a bespoke menu to include your favourite dishes.

We are firm believers that the best Sundays are ones that are approached leisurely, with time to read the papers, have a good catch-up chat or go for a long meandering walk to build up a good appetite for the next meal.  `To help ensure this ethos, we offer a 'Sunday Service' where the team arrives mid-morning armed with the Sunday papers and ready to cook up a delicious brunch - ideal if you've been up late partying the night before.  Or, they can cook you the perfect Sunday roast with all the trimmings.

Encouraged by how many of our lovely guests were enquiring about fish and chips for their first night, we have introduced Friday Night Fish where the team come and cook it fresh for you at the house so you don't have to find the nearest chippy.  They use line-caught Cornish cod, handcut chips, traditional mushy peas and homemade tartare sauce.  It really hits the spot after long drives from all points of the compass.

Or on any day of the week, the chef can provide fantastic home-cooked ready meals, perfect for heating up when you need them.

As the finishing touch, we offer a wine delivery service from the excellent local wine merchants and kegs of beer from the local brewery.  Just ask for our drinks list (deciding that was a tough job, as you can imagine).

We are opening a cafe and restaurant on the Netherwood Estate in Autumn 2018 that will be walkable from The Freeth and open for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner.  More details to follow.

We love food ourselves so are more than happy to discuss your requirements.  Please call Louisa in the office on 01885 410 321 or email
